Brian Singer - Room 304

In The Shapes of Numbers series, I explore mapping alternate numerical systems to pre-established forms such as vintage connect-the-dots drawings. For example, with Luck #1, I map the numbers from a lottery ticket to the winning lottery numbers, all on the backdrop of a black cat connect-the-dots. The result is a new interpretation of the expected outcome.

In The Meaning of Words body of work, I focus on word frequency, word pairs, and re-visualizing printed information. From redacting an entire Bible except for instances of the words “gold” and “faith”, to cutting up books and reassembling them, the original form is altered and given new meaning.

I also have a series of projects based primarily in social commentary. These projects range from the branding of presidential candidates in a two-party system, to exploring what is actually good or bad for the economy.
